Praise

I'll be honest: I'm not great at self-promotion. I'd much rather let the work speak for itself. But a portfolio is exactly the wrong place for modesty, so here's a collection of moments that made me feel genuinely proud: kind words from colleagues, leadership, and even a customer who took the time to say something nice. Proof, in other people's words, that the work I do has positive impact.

A last-minute request from Marketing (2025)

Ask: Build a last-minute, conference-ready security demo narrative for GitLab Epic Singapore, focused on showing how GitLab helps teams manage vulnerabilities, reduce noise, prioritize risk, remediate faster, and measure program effectiveness.

Deliverable: A polished demo flow/package for the keynote, including:

  • narrative-aligned mockups / prototypes

  • a Vulnerability Management with Duo Agentic Chat walkthrough,

  • supporting demo scripting around false positive reduction and remediation

  • and a Security Dashboard concept/demo showing value for both leadership and practitioners.

Design mentoring

I was on the interview panel for another Senior Designer role on the Secure team. We hired Andrew Cummins in March 2025, and he has been one of my design counterparts ever since. It’s been amazing to mentor him and watch him grow.

Compliment from a customer

In early July 2025, I designed a survey to customers to learn more about their needs for non-default branch tracking. My infrastructure engineering team had a lot of questions about how the new functionality should be built on the backend, and we needed to hear customer preferences and learn more about their particular use cases. I responded to some customers with a few follow-up questions, and then shared the insights with my engineering and product teams. This customer email was forwarded to me by their Customer Success Manager, which made my day! (All names redacted)
